And anyway, the decision had already been made. An ambitious young tribune of the plebs was elected. His name was sulpicius. He was a kid from a good family, optimate stock. So if you nobles wanted to show yourselves as the patrons of these new romans, show yourselves to be welcoming by giving them more of a share of the vote?
