The Importance of Effortful Retrieval

The harder it is, the better. As long as you're successful to do it, you don't have to relearn it. The important components of effort are different types of effortful retrieval that work. It's almost like it's the more effort you have to put in to retrieve that idea, the more likely you will be able to remember it at a future time.
