CHAPTER

The Art of the Anthropocene

I was reminded actually just when you were mentioning that, the great scene at the end of Werner Herzog's Cave of Forgotten Dreams where it suddenly cuts to this weird albino alligator for no reason. That has kind of turned into this strange monster because of plastic or nuclear waste. But yeah, I mean, Panarsburg does that, right? Like you walk into a room and what was amazing is I once saw her give a presentation and the person who was sitting next to me wasn't sure whether what she was presenting was like scientific fact or speculation. And I think that that is part of what's so generative and so interesting about what she's doing.
