Mariocart is one of the few games that pretty much anyone can pick up and play. The drift boost mechanic was really basiclye really defined in mara 64, and it has not dramatically changed since then. Toad's turnpike added a level of cinematicness to marica which i think generally can be a little bit quiet, at least early on.
