Around 11,000 Roma children are believed to have been infected with AIDS as a result of all this. Around 3,000 other Romanian orphans were also affected by the disease. After Ceausescu falls, some of the luckiest orphans are the AIDS orphans. There's more international funding to take care of the kids with AIDS. They're better off because they got AIDS in Romanian orphanages.
