Is the Phonemic Inventory Really Like Other Languages?

There's not a huge number of consonants, certainly. But it has a pre-nasalized stop series in that. The vowel system is six vowels plus schwa. Is it the case that I've seen another language where the schwa acts more like a high variant of ah, or something like that?
