The Last Farm in Amsterdam
The land was originally a small lake. In traditional Dutch fashion, it was changed from a small lake in 1820, tends into a polar. This whole area was just west of the city was the main agricultural area for the city. Just before the Second World War, the urban planner Cornelis von Aestre decided that we should keep these areas green. The idea was that every Amsterdamer should be able to get into a green space in a small amount of time.
