In a fixed mindset we don't really have much self-esteem and our self-worth is tied to outcomes and results and success. We want to push the button so we can feel good enough at least that's what we think would happen when we achieve the goal. A growth mindset has their self-worth detached which allows them to be more courageous and more resilient because they're not afraid to try things until they work. You can set up situations in a way that puts someone into a fixed mindset or put someone into a growth mindset more readily, says Carol duac.
