The Public Hanging of Thomas Egan
In 1882, Thomas Egan was taken to the gallows in Minnehaha County. He fell five and a half feet but the rope snapped; he dropped like a large sack of seaporn. "It's entirely possible that his neck was broken at that point," she says. The story of the Egan's vanishes from the late 1800s and it's just a sad story.
