The Complexity of Competition in a Forest Environment

Competition has to play into it. We wouldn't even have trees if it wasn't for the fact that these organisms are competing with each other because all of that wood and height, not doing a lot other than to compete better with your neighbor. And so when you see that again, that vast disconnect between the lab where everything is kind of controlled and it's a one to one, oftentimes into a community of organisms competing for limited everything,. That's got to be a big factor in how the, you know, some of the differences that you're seeing.
