Is There Diversity in Design?
He says what we want is diversity, which begins at the smallest visible scale and develops continuously upwards from that. And even then, we do not want it always and everywhere. So I think he really is concerned with diversity that you have these hard, sleek, shiny, textures next to rough raw textures next to a poll street in New York. That's really important for the design.
