The Effect of Normalization on Church Staff
When the term hospice is thrown out, at least my experience first-hand with it is that we're not necessarily afraid to talk about it as much as we are realizing that that means we need to go see them or go help in some way. The other thing here comes from a story about Susan Block and her dad needed to have surgery. She had to make a decision about whether to send him back in for surgery. And because they had that conversation, she's able to ask the doctor if it's successful, is he going to be able to watch football and eat chocolate ice cream?
