The Importance of Play

Play was released into a climate similar in terms of pop music to today. Do you think play could have been a successful and lucrative if it had been released today instead of 1999? I have no idea. You can't wave a wand and demand success and say, I'm going to sell 12 million records. There is something about the sensibility that went into the creation of that record that didn't sense want to communicate something.
