The History of General Linear Modeling
Cohen 68 is one of the most important papers he wrote of a massive important papers 1968. He was trying to communicate it to an audience that maybe needed to understand that, that there wasn't this artificial separation of these things. Now some people have started to reframe their training more in terms of general linear modeling. But it really is very hard to break away from the historical roots that were laid down over the prior 75 to 100 years.
