Lawford: What do you take away from this carefully crafted language about what DOJ is currently investigating with respect to January 6th? Lawford: I don't think it changes my perception of what the department had been looking into. But in some ways it's kind of a formalization of a split that we've really seen over the last few months where lower level cases, and I don't want to downplay those because they're hugely significant, have been chugging along at the US Attorney's Office.
