The first time I bought something big without my wife, my girlfriend at the time now when I bought a BMW and she was not super happy about that. So it surprised her with a house to be way better. The original like thinking was to rent a or own a duplex, triplex, quadplex and rent out the units that you weren't living in. That was a great benefit because you could have your housing paid for, but you can also afford to get a financing deal on a typical property.
