The queen used her christmas message really every year as her personal message to the commonwealth. She largely wrote those christmas essages herself. Other messages and broadcasts were quite rare, really er. It was a very special occasion if the queen chose to speak, for example, on the death of her mother. Or more recently, er, during the coved pandemic. That was the one that i think really connected with people, because we were all frightened in our locked in ou houses. And she spoke to us then, and we felt soothed and reassured as we were told: 'We will meet again'
