A Book Review of Plain Song by Kent Herif
Choleraan author Kent Herif writes books that are often quiet compact sometimes quietly devastating. In this book they're all dealing with their own private tragedies and you see them at the beginning of the book things aren't good but Herif brings them together in ways the characters do not expect like a high school or gets pregnant. While their circumstances are so sad there's also this profound sense of goodness that comes to the reader watching these lonely sad people find each other and find comfort and solace in it. This book is more likely to make you reach for the tissues than laugh out loud I don't think that's gonna happen here but they feel so profoundly right.
