The Differences Between Socialism and Socialism

The official definition of socialism is an economic system in which the state owns what's called the means of production. What we find is people are starting to use the term socialism to describe things that technically speaking aren't socialist according to the clear definition. So you'll hear things like Bernie Sanders calling for quote unquote free healthcare or free college. His intent is to achieve that by putting serious restrictions on what hospitals can and can't do, how they go about their business,. The terms liberal and conservative don't mean what they once did but I think socialism fits into that universe as well.
