The Magnetic Field Twist of a Doughnut
magnetic field can be created by super conducting electromagnetic coils, which go round and through the doughnot. When more of the electrons move in one direction around the doughnut than in the other direction, it will create a current. Particles near the outer edge drifting outwards will follow the magnetic field line around to the inner edge where they will drift back towards the core. This kind of fusion experiment is called a tocamac. Small fusion experiments are sometimes called table top experiments in quotes. The larger the experiment, the farther the particles have to move perpendicular to the magnetic field to get from the core to the outer edge. Larger experiments in herently have a longer confinement time.
