Immerse in the Creative Process

I love the idea of immersion as an image to the creative process, to this idea of really anything that is not, not straightforward. I think for me, when I go to make a film or do a painting or write or sing or whatever, immersion is, I think it starts in a place of self forgetting. My whole desire as an artist is to observe first and recognize later. That's really kind of my guiding principle. And I think that that hopefully spills out into the rest of my life beyond my art making practice.
