If teachers want to apply some of what we've shared here to their work, you recommend starting with an informal extraneous load audit. How many different types of assignments are students being asked to do? Every new type represents new teaching for you and new learning for them. Another question is about the emotional tone of your class. Is it consistent or are our students trying to track you know is are we going to set set him or her off today? Just if you're feeling stressed and anxious the kids may project that back to you.
