Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, or POTS for short, has been known by many different names. Although initially described in combat soldiers, the majority of patients with POTS are women of childbearing age. Too often, patients suffer from lengthy delays in receiving an appropriate diagnosis due to limited physician awareness and recognition of POTS.
