The Importance of Immigrants in Real Estate
In 2021, there were 7.9 million millennials in Canada which accounted for approximately one in five Canadians or 21%. So that's 7.9 millennials compared to the just over 9.2 million boomers in Canada. The birth rate is too low to replace the 9 million workers who have reached retirement by 2030. This goes back to our previous point about watching the boomers. We can see that we're pretty dependent on immigration for anyone that's been following real estate or these discussions on real estate and housing.
