The Cost of Slavery Outweighs the Benefit of Automation
In general, if you have too much of an abundance of labor, you don't automate. The upper midwest has a greater degree of automation than southern california. Automation actually displaces slave labor in the long run because it makes bor a smaller and smaller component of the cost structure. So eventually the cost of securing your slaves outweighs the benefit. Well, that's just economics, but the morality of it as well. And by the way, one thing that i think relatively few people think about, but that's important, like to know, is, communism was also slavery.
