Exercise is a very poor prescription for weight loss. People may benefit from exercise in various ways, but people don't lose any substantial amount of weight because the body compensates. Exercise potentially becomes synergistic. You'll have more calories around for muscle, which will fuel your physical activity. Workouts are going to be much harder if you're inclined to collapse on the couch, then to get on to the stair master.
