Seeding a Book - Is It Worth It?
Once you're past that threshold, the main thing that you effect by seeding it farther and farther is just how quickly that growth curve gets getting going. You have to seed the book enough that whatever its inherent latent potential for spread is can be expressed. If there is good value late in that book, if it is going to have a high growth curve, i want to jump up that curve. That'll help. But there's diminishing returns here. It will take me now twenty more hours a week, it make me completely distracted and miserable, to double my seeding potential,. probably not worth it. The dynamic between these two things is one that often confuses authors....
