The Antarctica Treaty and the Future of Space
Right now the outer space treaty falls well short of what we would need to be able to properly enforce. As long as Mars needs a lifeline from earth and it's going to need one for decades, if not hundreds of years, you put laws here on earth. I think our science, our sci-fi vision of using the solar system, the laws need to catch up. There are plenty of sci-fi visions that go the other direction. It's time for a reread of the moon as a harsh mistress.
