The Book of Ulysses by Joyce
Ulysses came out near the top of a recent poll on best books. It's very interesting to me to see how vital it remains, he says. He describes Ulysses as "the most carefully laid chaos, I can imagine" The episode in which Joyce imitates 18 or 20 different writers is perhaps his finest work yet.
