Is Juilliard a Good Place to Be an Actor?
A lot of the experience of Juilliard was one of denigration and pain for me. And like the character in the novel, it was to a degree a sort of stroke of luck that I ended up getting a role at the right time with extraordinary filmmakers. They didn't give a class on rejection. They just beat you guys up. That's where I started really taking playwriting seriously because I needed to write plays for myself because I wasn't getting cast. Oh, there's O'Botherware Art Down. It just changed everything. Fuck you, Juilliard.
