The Rise of Over 65s in General Practice

In April 2013 there were about 9.4 million patients aged over 65 registered with GP practices and in April 2023 the figure is more than 11 million so it's an 18 percent increase in over 65s in just the past decade. Over 75s per GP have risen twice as fast as total patients per GP. This week NHS England announced that it plans to expand low calorie super shakes diets for patients with type 2 diabetes to all parts of England by March 2024.
