Die Hard, Bruce Willis, and Moore in the Final Film
Moore was defending his star when he was doing some of those promos as well, and respecting Willis's position in the franchise. There were things like not fully revealing to Sebastian Koch, the full scope of his character until filming began - a kind of little deliberate trick by the sound of it. And so Moore would be saying that while they were shooting the film, Bruce Willis was the person saying, try harder and try harder, right up to the minute you shoot it. When you see the final film, you might counter that, but that was certainly the narrative that was coming through.
