D i c occurs due to systemic activation of coagulation, and that's probably the primary event. There has been a theory that maybe we should give people at d i c putic doses of heperin. But one challenge here is that there've been a lot of ransom iz control trials of these different hemotologic manipulations but they're usually just applied in septic shock patients.
