Data in society is an independent research institute studying the social implications of data and automation. David robinson, a visiting scientist at cornell's college of computing and information science will be our speaker for to day. He believes that effective governance of the sociotechnical systems will require collaboration and mutual adaptation by the legal and technical communities. We uplift the sovereignty of indigenous people, data and territory and commit to dismantling ongoing practices of colonialism on our digital worlds.
