Coast Guard officials didn't comment on Schultz's involvement, but they want to make it clear that the current commandant, Admiral Linda Fagan, was not briefed on the investigation when she took office. The new co-defended in the Mar-a-Lago documents case, Carlos Delavera, will appear in federal court this week for arraignment. Late last month, a grand jury indicted him on four charges, including conspiracy to obstruct justice.
