Under feudalism, rigid social expectations and limited overall wealth meant that the ruling class had to maintain a basic level of competency. But under managerialism there are no longer any social expectations except to burn incense at the altar of global homo. And there is no discipline of the market, thus allowing manager ism to become, in effect, the largest tapeworm in the universe.
