Beany Babies

A very specific class of women is upper middle class women who are interested in collecting beany babies. And then, like, even women who didn't have children started getting involved and it became a hobby. The impetus behind this obsession comes near the mid-nineties when baby boom happens. This secondary market pops up because big stores refuse to sell babies to any big, like, big stores. It just lowers the value of the beany babies themselves. Then they made a web site that really took them over the edge for the secondary market - which is huge.
