How to Select a Phonics Program

Teachers choosing a phonics program is if they're going from balanced literacy or whole language to phonics that's commendable but honestly what's really going to make the best kind of changes. Teachers selecting phonics programs need to be part of a system that selects those programs rather than just doing all of that in a silo. You don't learn to read them right in one year so here it's usually you've got your kids for one year before they move on and most cases you've got to advocate for a system that will keep those children going through that scope and sequence for many years.
