Is There a Fed Put in the Form of the S&P 500?
One year ago this week when Russian tanks started rolling in Ukraine and we know what happened there with inflation expectations. If you start to see a deterioration in credit the equity market will follow but I will tell you if things get bad enough that's when the Fed comes in and starts to bail things out. There's a scenario where maybe the unemployment thing is the thing that keeps the Fed very steadfast in their kind of you know interest rate stance. Maybe we just stay high maybe unemployment stays low but inflation stays high and that's not great for S&P earning. We've normalized interest rates and maybe our economy can hack it who knows all right?
