As you explore your voice and go through your lifetime vocal journey, you will have times where you really focus. I think that concentrated focus certain techniques for a period of time can be helpful - but don't get stuck there. And then there's an idea that all technique is equal. Well, it's not. Certain techniques are going to work better for certain singers and certain personalities. What works for one person may not work for you. Either one is right. You don't have to study vocal technique. As long as you can make the sounds you need to make on a consistent basis in as healthy a manner as possible.
