The Influence of Stuart Hall's Thinking on Race and Moral Panics in Post-War Britain
Kojo: I wanted to shine a light on the intellectual millennial through which Liz Tross emerged. Stuart Hall defined powerism as something larger, more significant than the explicit enunciation of new racially defined policies for the black population. He said that he meant the formation of an official racist politics at the heart of the political culture itself. The Institute of Economic Affairs and the other Truss and Street think tanks are trying to distance themselves from the Truss and Quarting Project. These institutions have played a really interesting subterranean role in British politics since the late 1960s.
