The Importance of Education in the Politics of Trump
I noticed this a lot during the Trump election, actually. It was eye opening to me to learn to be schooled by people that were not all in lockstep on this opinion. People with post graduate degrees are much more likely to self censor than people with only a high school education. I think there is this element of sort of status of, you know, in white collar occupations. Oftentimes your job is not directly tied to your, like the goods you produce or the value you provide. But in sort of the opinions you proclaim, it's your relationships with other people. And people become much more afraid of saying the wrong thing and losing their reputation status.
