The Consequences of Curbside Parking in New York City
The rat problem in New York is one reason we have a rat problem. In the city, we pile up our garbage on the sidewalks instead of putting them in containers at the curb. The city has just released a study earlier this month saying that by taking away about 10% of the parking spaces on residential streets, we could get about 80% of the trash on those streets into containers.
