Sometimes we need rituals because we're not in the mood to feel a certain way. We tend to think of freedom in terms ofa negative freedom, meaning no one's forcing me to do stuff. You have to kind of surrender to whatever this thing is. And i think for me, am reminds me of this ideaand maybe this is related to gift giving too, of surrender.
