You're Dead, You Can't Believe
Being dead to sin doesn't mean you can't sin any more. It means that you're to separate yourself from sin like you were once separated by sin from your god. No calvinistic exege worth his salt interprets that passage to mean dead equals a moral incapacity of the church to respond to christ's warning. If this person's born dead, they're bo both born bed dead. But he just unilaterally makes this one alive and this one he leaves in his dead like condition. And you'd have to read that into the text.
