The Story of the Beaumonts

Jane, Anna and Grant Beaumont have been missing for more than two months. The South Australian state government put forward a modest reward sum of 500 pounds for any information about the whereabouts of the children. Local businessmen and private citizens contributed to the amount in the hopes of encouraging others to follow suit. With donations from the local community, the reward grew to just over 10,000 pounds. This increased amount led to an onslaught of false reports, hoaxes and wild theories about what happened to the children. A man with a foreign accent called afternoon tabloid newspaper The News claiming he was holding the Beaumont children for ransom.
