Does It Tell You What's Good?

Psychotherapy works by getting you to see the contradictions in your own view of yourself, which is a purely philosophical business. It's very like what antony was saying about religious ideas: we have these ideas of goodness, but are they really good? We've got an account of their origins, but there still remains a philosophical question of whether they're really good. Something like evolutionary psychology, which you propound is that dos istnot a rather deterministic way looking at life. Does that not render self examination less relevant, less central than the place we put it in in the last half hour? So not in the least, because it doesn't tell you what's good. If
