The group that trained on the number extension machine increased both their strength and on the machine and their RDL strength, despite not performing any RDL specific training. The findings where essentially there were no differences between the recreationally active individuals who did train the RDL and the powerlifters. So it wasn't like the power lifters were weak, they were strong, it's just that they weren't even stronger.
