Is the European Central Bank on a Roll?
Inflation is running, I'd say even hotter in Europe than in the US by now. And that is the exact reason why it's taken so long for the European central bank to act. It seems as if we've entered sort of a new regime when it comes to monetary policy. When inflation is running a buff target, all of a sudden you actually want to have a strong currency against your peers. The Federal Reserve has chosen to move ahead with rapid interest rate hikes despite a very strong dollar.
