The Problem With Computational Modeling
I don't think that the computational metaphor is going to provide that vocabulary for us. I think it's probably fundamentally mistaken, even just from a kind of evolutionary standpoint,. The notion that that's the sort of thing that would have evolved is a computer of a particular kind. But it's not clear to me that they're explanatory in this strong sense because the trouble with computational modeling is it's too powerful.
